Hey everyone! It's been a while since I've written a good ol' blog post.
As you all know, if you've been following me for a while either reading my blog or watching my YouTube videos, (or both or neither), I love being creative.
I've been making YouTube videos since the beginning of high school but I started making videos and being in front of the camera as a toddler. I would pretend I was the host of my own talk show and interview my family members. Or I would be a newscaster and report on the stories of the day. Either way, I've always loved being in front of the camera entertaining.
I also love storytelling. It's my favorite thing to do. Writing stories, bringing stories to life on camera or in a written word through tv, movies, books and music and of course, the internet is extremely rewarding.
Being in my twenties and still trying to figure out life, the pandemic threw us all a curveball. I was steadily working for a few years at a job and suddenly everything shut down. With the shut down of the world came major changes. Now two years later as life tries to attempt to resume to normal, although it will never be as normal as it was, we're all trying to find our footing again. Especially me.
After graduating college and faced with an insurmountable amount of debt, the only thing that mattered when taking a job was money. Making enough money in order to be able to afford things was the one thing I looked for upon graduation and up until the shutdown of everything in 2020.
Now two years later, what matters to me is yes, still money but more than that. A job should not just be all about money. It should creatively fulfill you and be rewarding in a way that enhances your life.
After spending these past two years trying to learn how to navigate the world once again, I am faced with a new challenge. That would be to find something that not only pays well, but that is something that I actually want to do, not something I have to do in order to pay the bills.
I have found that with all of this free time on my hands I fall back on what I know how to do and what I do well, which is be creative. AKA writing!
When I was in between jobs after graduating college with the most free time on my hands I ever had. As a 22 year old I began writing a novel. Now five years later, I'm going back to it. Whether or not any of my stories will ever be published and read by millions, the most important thing is that I'm writing again, It has always been my favorite thing to do that fuels my soul and makes me feel good.
So with all that being said, always go back to what you're passionate about and what you truly enjoy doing. Even if you lose sight of it for a while, you'll always find your way back to it. Don't give up and don't lose hope! Just do what you love do and everything else will fall into place.
Never give up on your dreams and go boldly into the direction you want to pursue. Don't let others dictate your dreams and what you can and can't do. YOU are the author of your own life and you write your own book. You decide where the story goes. Don't settle for something you don't actually want.
Always go for your dreams. No matter what. Be you true and true. Because nobody else can be and others want to be. When being an author, you have to ignore the critics and know that only you know the full story. You have your own perspective on life that is uniquely true to you. And you have a purpose to bring joy not only to others but to yourself first and foremost.
Living in a fantasy world may help you create a reality that is even better.
